Critical Role Campaign 4 Unveils the Warriors Table
From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a exciting storyline including celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers expanding in strength within the city.
Heads-up: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table features Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might look mismatched, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the party understands precisely where to head next after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death initiated the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to sell off.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in the region and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the group reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them little choice but to travel to Timmony in quest for the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
